The average human skin is 1.5 millimeters thick. J.J. McCarthy’s skin is at least twice that thickness.

The Minnesota Vikings’ rookie quarterback, lost for the season after last week’s knee surgery, posted a smiling photo on his Instagram account Monday, standing outside a car.

“If you can walk you can play,” said one snarky comment, captured by the 33rd Team.

“Not up to me brother,” replied McCarthy.

“Knee looks fine to me,” said another.

“pregame brother,” the quarterback replied.

The 10th overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft, McCarthy led Jim Harbaugh’s Michigan Wolverines to the national championship in January.

McCarthy will become the first quarterback selected in the first round to miss his entire rookie season during the common-draft era (since 1967), per Doug Clawson of CBSSports.
