Two things can be true for new Commanders general manager Adam Peters. His daily job is a balance between winning now and winning in the future.
“It’s not a tug of war, it’s a balance,” Peters told listeners Thursday on the Grant & Danny Show on 106.7 the Fan. “It’s not a rebuild, it’s a recalibration and we are trying to win right now. And we do have goals to be really good this season.”
That season kicks off Sunday at Tampa Bay (4:25 p.m. ET, FOX) and, despite low expectations in the https://profootballpost.com/236/si-writer-expects-commanders-to-mimic-pete-carroll/first year of the Dan Quinn era, Peters wants fans to look forward to seeing what his Washington team can do, especially the new offense under coordinator Kliff Kingsbury and rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels.
“I’m excited about everything,” Peters said. “I’m really excited about our offense, with Kliff and the way he runs it, and the guys who are executing it. It’s going to be a really fun offense to watch. It’s going to a fast offense and it’s going to put defenses in a bind with what we do.
“Defensively, I really love how fast and physical the guys are playing, our mindset, and the leadership on that side of the ball, too.”
