Was Davante Adams one of the players head coach Antonio Pierce charged with making a business decision in last week’s loss to the Panthers? The Raiders might soon be making their own business decision with respect to the All-Pro wide receiver.

The NFL trade deadline is only 37 days away and NBC Sports’ Mike Florio wrote Sunday morning the final days of Adams’ “time with the Raiders have quite possibly arrived.”

Adams (hamstring) will not play today when Las Vegas (1-2) hosts Cleveland (1-2) at Allegiant Stadium (4:25 p.m. ET, CBS).

While Adams distanced himself from preseason comments made by DeSean Jackson saying Adams was not happy in Las Vegas, Florio thought the receiver’s sudden hamstring injury sustained during Thursday’s practice is the beginning of the end for Adams and the Raiders.

Florio, who wonders why Adams would return prior to the Nov. 5 trade deadline, reports the All-Pro’s current contract balloons from $16.89 million this season to $35.64 million in 2025.

Another business decision potentially on the table for the Raiders – and possibly weighing heavily on Adams — is benching Gardner Minshew for Aidan O’Connell at quarterback.

Obviously, Adams’ former quarterback and offensive coordinator would welcome him, especially if they’re in contention a month from now. Adams is reportedly considered week-to-week.

Adams has 18 catches for 109 yards and one touchdown in three games this season. He needs just 82 more receptions to reach 100 on the year and become the third player in NFL history to reach the mark in six separate seasons, joining Antonio Brown and Brandon Marshall.
