Jameis Winston passed for 334 yards and three touchdowns in leading the Browns to a 29-24 upset over first-place Baltimore on Sunday. Then, he quoted his Rust Belt neighbor.

“There’s a white boy up in Detroit,” Winston said, “that I really admire, named Eminem. He said you only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow. This opportunity comes once in a lifetime.”

Once earlier in his lifetime, Winston was the No. 1 overall selection in the 2015 draft. Now, after Deshaun Watson’s season-ending injury, Winston has injected life into a dormant Browns offense. Head coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday that Winston will remain the starter moving forward.

Winston, who hit Cedric Tillman for a 38-yard touchdown to give Cleveland a 29-24 advantage with 59 seconds left, made his first start in more than two years, since Sept. 25, 2022. In the process of beating Baltimore, Cleveland snapped two significant streaks, the Browns’ own five-game losing slide and the Ravens’ five-game winning streak.

It was an emotional victory for Cleveland. Longtime Voice of the Browns Jim Donovan, who’d called the team’s games since the franchise returned to the NFL in 1999, passed away on Saturday.

Donovan may have had a hand in causing Kyle Hamilton to drop a sure interception that would’ve ended the game. On the next snap, Winston found Tillman for the game-winning touchdown.
