A season-high six NFL teams get their bye weekends in Week 12. One of those clubs made news on Tuesday, one could make news at some point, and another made one of the plays of the year last week. But before the Saints get their bye, what Taysom Hill did in a 35-14 win over Cleveland, deserves some documentation.

A fantasy cheat code, something out of a 1960s NFL laboratory, Hill had this stat line in Sunday’s victory: Eight receptions, 188 scrimmage yards (138 rushing, 50 receiving), 18 passing yards, three rushing touchdowns and 42 return yards.

Hill became the first player officially listed on a roster as anything other than a running back (he really shouldn’t have a position) with at least 125 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns in a game in NFL history. And that’s not all.

The pissed-off veteran also posted 112 yards and three touchdowns on nine carries in a 2022 win over Seattle. He’s now the only non-running back all-time with multiple career games with 100 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns.

New Orleans (4-7), written off two weeks ago after losing seven straight, suddenly has won two in a row. Now returning to health, Hill, Derek Carr and the sportscar-like Alvin Kamara come out of their bye with several winnable games. At the very least, they’ll be a dangerous threat to spoil another team’s playoff reservations.
