Cowboys Jerry Jones said this week he’s not interested in losing games for higher draft picks. His team followed suit on Thanksgiving afternoon.

DeMarvion Overshown volleyballed a pass to himself and returned the interception 23 yards for a game-turning touchdown. The Cowboys also parlayed a third-quarter fumble recovery into a touchdown and got six sacks to win their second straight game on Thursday, a 27-20 victory over the Giants. And after Dallas earned its first win at AT&T Stadium since Dec. 30 last season, Dallas linebacker Micah Parsons said the Cowboys (5-7) have turned a corner.

“To be honest, it’s really been, ‘Why not us?,’ Parsons told Erin Andrews on the field after the game. “Everybody counted us out. And it was really just, enough’s enough. We know what we got. We know what we can do here. And I believe in every one of these guys and I believe we’re going to turn it around a make a run.”

They’re running at a steady pace after taking down a pair of NFC East foes in a five-day stretch, including last week’s thrilling win at Washington. Parsons has led the way with 5½ sacks in four games since returning Nov. 10 from a high-ankle sprain. He told Andrews once Dallas returns injured cornerback Trevon Diggs and defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, the Cowboys will be ready to answer their critics.

“For me, as soon as I was able to get at least 90 percent, it was about just fighting through it, getting back on the field, because I knew I could help,” said Parsons, who had six pressures and 1½ sacks on Thursday. “There’s been a lot of trash talk out there about what difference we can make. We still got some guys coming back from the chamber. Trevon’s not back, D-Law’s not back, so I’m telling you, we coming.”

Lawrence, placed on injured reserve Oct. 2, can return to practice whenever he’s recovered from his foot sprain. Diggs (groin/knee) was limited at practice this week. Both could be ready to return when the Cowboys come off 11 days of rest and square off with the Bengals on Monday night in Week 14.

Another reason for Dallas optimism is the play of running back Rico Dowdle, who posted his first career 100-yard rushing game with 112 yards on 22 carries, including a 4-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Dowdle, who snapped the Cowboys’ franchise-record streak of 25 games without a 100-yard rusher, has a career-high 795 scrimmage yards.

The Giants (2-10) became the first NFL team to lose 10 games, extending their losing streak to seven. They’ve started three quarterbacks over their last three games, including Drew Lock on Thursday. New York hosts the New Orleans Saints on Dec. 8.
