Taylor Swift and boyfriend Travis Kelce are approaching the one-year anniversary of their relationship. Thanks to Amazon, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end can now afford a nice present (wink, wink: @Fan_Swiftie1).
The Wall Street Journal on Tuesday reported Kelce and his brother, Jason, signed a three-year deal worth more than $100 million to bring their New Heights podcast to Amazon’s Wondery podcast division.
Kelce, who has helped the Chiefs to four of the last five Super Bowls, has a base salary on his current contract of $5.75 million in 2024, according to Over the Cap. That means each of his 17 game checks are likely less than the weekly pay he’ll receive from Amazon for New Heights.
Jason, literally the center of the Philadelphia Eagles’ unstoppable quarterback sneak, retired following the 2023 season after a 13-year NFL career.
Travis, meanwhile, is the league’s highest-paid tight end on an average-per-year basis, including contract bonuses. This year, he can become the first player in NFL history with 80 receptions in nine consecutive seasons, surpassing Marvin Harrison (eight from 1999-2006), Torry Holt (eight from 2000-07) and Jerry Rice (eight from 1989-96).
Kansas City opens the NFL season in defense of its back-to-back Super Bowl titles on Sept. 5 at home against Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.
With apologies to Jim Harbaugh: No one has it better than Travis Kelce.
