  • Borgonzi’s time in Kansas City predates Andy Reid. He’s served in the Chiefs organization since 2009, most recently as assistant GM, and worked for three general managers in Kansas City, Scott Pioli, John Dorsey and Brett Veach.
  • Borgonzi inherits the No. 1 overall selection in the 2025 draft.
  • Tennessee’s decision leaves the Raiders and Jets as the NFL’s only remaining GM vacancies.
  • Borgonzi also interviewed with the Jets during the current cycle and with the Commanders last year.

He reportedly did his first interview earlier this week in remote fashion. Saints OC Klint Kubiak also is a strong candidate in Seattle.

Seattle Seahawks: Mike Macdonald has completed an offensive-coordinator interview with former Bucs OC Byron Leftwich, Jonathan Jones says. Leftwich also interviewed for the head-coach role in New England. Additionally, Leftwich reportedly was a candidate for the Jaguars job that went to Doug Pederson in 2022.

New Orleans Saints: According to Jonathan Jones, Joe Brady will conduct his first known head-coach interview Friday, meeting virtually with the Saints prior to Buffalo’s colossal showdown with the Ravens on Sunday. New Orleans also will meet in-person on Friday to discuss its head-coach future with a familiar face, interim HC Darren Rizzi.

Denver Broncos: Ian Rapoport notes that Saints interim HC Darren Rizzi is a natural candidate to replace Ben Kotwica as Denver special teams coordinator. Sean Payton hired Rizzi for the same role with the Saints in 2019 and Rizzi served on Payton’s New Orleans staff from 2019-21.
