Jacksonville Jaguars: Per Dianna Russini, Liam Coen flew back to Tampa Thursday night while his agent completed details on his new contract. Compensation and length of contract are agreed upon. The Jaguars are expected to name him head coach on Friday.
Las Vegas Raiders: John Spytek has signed a five-year contract to become general manager of the Las Vegas Raiders, Tom Pelissero reports.
San Francisco 49ers: Mike Silver reports Robert Saleh never left home for his scheduled Friday interview in Jacksonville, where Liam Coen is in contract discussions reportedly to become the next Jaguars head coach. Instead, Saleh is now expected to begin a second stint as 49ers defensive coordinator, Silver says.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Per Dianna Russini, Liam Coen got on the plane from Tampa to Jacksonville after Jaguars ownership told him they’d let him pick the GM and would pay him “Ben Johnson-level” money over multiple years.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Albert Breer reports Tampa Bay offered Liam Coen a three-year deal on Monday to make him the highest-paid coordinator in NFL history. The offer was contingent on Coen not taking the second interview in Jacksonville, the reason for the secrecy, Breer says. Breer says Coen is most likely done with the Bucs, even if he doesn’t become Jaguars head coach. … Also, Rick Stroud says Coen contacted Todd Bowles Thursday at 5 p.m. saying he had to take his child to the doctor’s office and briefly mentioned he wanted to look back into the Jaguars situation.
Dallas Cowboys: Jane Slater reports on The Insiders that there’s no unanimous decision in the building regarding the head coach, including Brian Schottenheimer. Slater says Pete Carroll reached out to Jerry Jones and they had a discussion. The Cowboys’ owner also spoke to Rich Bisaccia, she adds.
New England Patriots: Giants defensive assistant Zak Kuhr is joining Mike Vrabel’s New England staff, Ryan Dunleavy reports.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: If, as expected, Liam Coen leaves to become the Jaguars’ head coach, Tampa Bay would be seeking its fourth offensive coordinator in four years, including Dave Canales (2023) and Byron Leftwich (2022).
Jacksonville Jaguars: Amid reports that Tampa Bay has been trying unsuccessfully to reach Liam Coen to get him to sign his new contract with the Bucs, Adam Schefter reports Coen did reach out to head coach Todd Bowles to inform him of his interest with the Jaguars, who fired GM Trent Baalke on Wednesday.
New Orleans Saints: Nick Underhill says the Liam Coen development in Jacksonville is good news for the Saints because Coen wasn’t a candidate in New Orleans and the Saints can focus on their interviews knowing they won’t lose anyone to the Jaguars.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero say Liam Coen is back in play, back in-person, and now the leading candidate to be head coach in Jacksonville. Adam Schefter reports the two sides already are in contract discussions. Also, the Jaguars’ search is Rooney Rule compliant because they spoke to Robert Saleh in-person Jan. 14 and Patrick Graham in-person on Thursday. Saleh was scheduled for a second interview in-person on Friday.
Chicago Bears: Ben Johnson has requested permission from the Vikings to interview DB coach Daronte Jones for his defensive-coordinator role, Ian Rapoport says.
Tennessee Titans: Paul Kuharsky reports the Titans have hired Rayna Stewart as special teams assistant.
Las Vegas Raiders: Josina Anderson reports the Raiders are growing more interested in Pete Carroll as their next head coach. While Steve Spagnuolo also has drawn interest, Carroll remains the leader, Anderson says.
Dallas Cowboys: Nick Harris reports that Jerry Jones has had informal conversations with former Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll regarding the Cowboys’ head-coach vacancy. Carroll also is a candidate in Las Vegas.
Cleveland Browns: Cleveland on Thursday interviewed Giants assistant QB coach Christian Jones for the Browns’ vacant QB-coach role, Tom Peliserro says.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Tony Boselli is now part of the Jacksonville head-coach search committee, added to the process following the departure of GM Trent Baalke, according to Jonathan Jones.
Houston Texans: Houston has amicably parted ways with team president Greg Grissom, Ian Rapoport says.
New York Jets: Rams head coach Sean McVay said no formal interview request has arrived from New York for Nick Caley, his tight ends coach. Caley is reportedly a top offensive-coordinator target for new head coach Aaron Glenn.
Detroit Lions: Jordan Schultz says Tampa Bay ILB coach Larry Foote is expected to interview for Detroit’s vacancy at defensive coordinator.
Dallas Cowboys: Quoting a high-ranking league executive, ProFootballPost.com reports that Rich Bisaccia has emerged as a name of interest in the team’s head-coach search. Bisaccia, currently assistant head coach and special teams coordinator in Green Bay, served in the same role for the Cowboys from 2013-17. He led the Raiders to the playoffs as interim head coach in 2021.
Cincinnati Bengals: The team has officially announced the hiring of defensive coordinator Al Golden.
Detroit Lions: Jeremy Fowler reports that Tampa Bay run game coordinator/defensive line coach Kacy Rodgers will replace Terrell Williams as the Lions’ DL coach. Williams left this week to become defensive coordinator in New England.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Per Jonathan Jones, Jacksonville will focus on its head-coach search before fully launching its GM search.
Dallas Cowboys: Jane Slater reports Dallas spent another five hours with Brian Schottenheimer on Wednesday to discuss the head-coaching role.
Dallas Cowboys: Clarence Hill reports the Cowboys are closing in on a contract to make offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer their next head coach.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Ian Rapoport says the Jaguars are expected to interview Joe Brady, Kellen Moore and “others” following in-person HC interviews with Patrick Graham and Robert Saleh this week.
Miami Dolphins: Robert Prince is a candidate to leave Dallas and replace Wes Welker as Dolphins wide receivers coach, Marcel Loui-Jacques says.
North Carolina: The university has released a redacted version of Bill Belichick‘s contract, noting he has now signed the pact.

Chicago Bears: Adam Jahns reports the Bears will not retain several assistants on the first Ben Johnson staff: interim HC Thomas Brown, interim OC/WRs coach Chris Beatty, OL line coach Chris Morgan, QB coach Kerry Joseph and defensive coordinator Eric Washington.
